Physiological Sciences at Dundee explores the function of organs and body systems. You will gain a broad understanding of healthy and diseased function – from a molecular and cellular level to exploring what happens when issues like metabolic and neurodegenerative disease are present. You’ll look at the clinical aspects of physiology and focus on how body systems can be fine-tuned or optimised as well as how disease can be prevented or treated.
Learning key theories in biology is important for understanding the field as a whole. Your first two years will cover concepts including evolution, biological organisation, molecular mechanisms, and processes. You’ll develop practical skills, including laboratory skills, data analysis, and how to design and run experiments. This will prepare you for carrying out projects later in your course.

Your knowledge and competencies will take your degree wherever you want it to go. You can pick modules that interest you and also transfer to a different life sciences degree if you choose the relevant modules.
Lab sessions throughout your degree will help integrate your knowledge and practical skills, as well as develop strong transferable skills, both in and out of the lab.

As a graduate in physiological sciences you will have an excellent grounding for a career in, or further training for, biomedicine and related fields including, pharmacology and physiotherapy.
You will also be welcomed into applied research and development in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Other openings include teaching in schools or universities.
The IS1 is the first year of a four year International Incorporated Bachelors. And its designed to strengthen your English language abilities and introduce core concepts and knowledge required at university study level. Once you have successfully completed your studies you will continue the remaining stages of your degree directly with the University of your choice.

Students at the International College may be considered for a number of Scholarships that are part of the University of Dundee Scholarship offerings, such as the Global Citizenship Scholarship which awards students up to £5,000 per year of study. Another award is the ICD Progressing with Excellence Scholarship which recognises academic achievement while studying at the International College and awards up to £6,000 per year of study.
These scholarships are awarded for the University of Dundee period of study. Other Scholarships may be available for the ICD period of study, and you should contact your agent or Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº International regional representative for full details of these.

Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº International offers a number of scholarship opportunities for students applying for an academic course under the Core Scholarship. The scholarships are targeted at different regions around the world, awards range from partial contribution towards tuition fees to awards covering part or full pathway course fees at the international college.
